This box doesn't need to span the entire page. Phoenix2 18:43, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Yes it does, to be consistant with the other provinces templates. --File:Ottawa flag.png Spinboy 19:08, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Template:Navigation was deprecated

[edit]

{{Navigation}} was deprecated, and all instances of it were converted to {{Navbox}}. That is the reason for the recent conversion to the new form. The old style was deprecated due to problems in some browsers and problems with the javascript that controls it. I don't mean to start an edit war or cause problems, but this template really should move away from the deprecated form. --CapitalR 19:29, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I didn't realize there had been a problem. On the surface, they appeared to look the same. GreenJoe 19:44, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

include colleges?

[edit]

List of universities and colleges in Alberta was recently expanded to include colleges too. Should this navbox also be expanded in purpose to include colleges, maybe Technical institutes too? --Qyd (talk) 21:47, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps the colleges should have their own template? There's a lot of them. GreenJoe 22:04, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
14 public colleges. A line with colleges could also be made optional, i.e. display only when a parameter is activated. I'll built a sandbox at Template:Ab Uni/sandbox. Here's how it would look:
  • with colleges
  • with technical institutes
  • with both

Location

[edit]

So when do you use what where? GreenJoe 19:19, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DeVry

[edit]

I removed DeVry. No other province includes it in their template. It doesn't really belong. GreenJoe 23:44, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also don't see the template in the DeVry article. GreenJoe 23:55, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine; even though it is prominent in Calgary, it it just a campus of a larger institution. I included it because it was listed in the official Alberta education list. --Qyd (talk) 02:48, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why are the privates hidden?

[edit]

Why is there a logic switch hiding the private accreditated institutions? It seems strange that when looking at the Red Deer College page, there is no link in the navbox for Ambrose, but at Ambrose there is one for RDC - what's the reasoning there? If we are displaying Universities and colleges in Alberta why don't we display all of them all of the time? j-beda (talk) 01:02, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Six-Sector Model

[edit]

Should this template be changed to reflect the new Six-Sector model of Alberta's post-secondary system? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.59.159.249 (talk) 15:32, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Red Crow Community College

[edit]

Can some one insert Red Crow Community College? Peter Horn User talk 21:03, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Banff Centre

[edit]

Added Banff Centre as it accredited under the Alberta PSLA (http://eae.alberta.ca/ministry/legislation/psla.aspx) FrustratedOmega (talk) 17:47, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
