Zuhayr ibn Janab
[edit]- ... that the pre-Islamic Arab chieftain, Zuhayr ibn Janab, destroyed a sanctuary that rivaled the Kaaba of Mecca? Source: "Many reports about Buss stress its establishment as rival sanctuary to the Quraysh's Ka'ba at Mecca by Ghatafan ... and subsequently destroyed Zuhayr b. Janab of the Banu Kalb" (Munt, Harry. (2014) The Holy City of Medina: Sacred Space in Early Islamic Arabia. p. 38.)

- Article more than long enough, new enough (barely! make sure you nominate early next time), written in a neutral manner with citations for factual statements. No copyvio issue detected. Hook is interesting and checks out with the source. Please perform your QPQ and this is good to go. HaEr48 (talk) 19:46, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Note: I suggest a minor tweak to the hook (see above), to bring the pre-Islamic qualifier to the person, rather than the sanctuary. My reasoning is that it is more helpful to describe the person who is the topic of the hook, and also to avoid some casual readers who might infer that Arab & Kaaba means that the person is from the Islamic era. What do you think? HaEr48 (talk) 19:53, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
