Wrongly listed aces
[edit]- Andrew Beauchamp-Proctor and Franz Büchner are both listed as deceased here, while they survived the war.
- Frank Granger Quigley is listed as surviving the war, while he died in October 1918.
Above errors corrected.

Format problems of the article
[edit]I want to create "content" section and hyperlinks for this article but failed. Compared with the other articles, the content section does not appear automatically and I do not know why it is so. Can anyone do it instead for me please?
My desired content structure is:
Legend
[edit]Abbreviations
[edit]Awards
[edit]Allies
[edit]Composition of ace population
[edit]Notes
[edit]References
[edit]External links
[edit]Especially, I want to offer the hyperlink for "==Composition of ace population==" directly for discussions elsewhere.
DSC Ambiguation
[edit]Could someone with the needed skills please add the American DSC to the medals table that begins this list? That would be Distinguished Service Cross, and I suggest the abbreviation to it be DSC(US).
I am available for discussion of this if needed. Thanks.

There has been a mistake with this one. Recent research has shown his victory total to be 27 - 23 individual air victories four shared, not 25. I'm trying to get the said article to G.A so please direct any responses there or to my talk page. Regards. Dapi89 (talk) 11:26, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Re-ranked.

Edward Mannock
[edit]I was about to start messing with his article and I'm puzzled to find that on this one he is listed as the third most successful ace in the War. But his official record, and all the reliable sources I have seen, are certain his tally was 61 not 73 victories. Dapi89 (talk) 19:01, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
Hello, dapi,
Thanks for the heads up. I did not realize that Mannock was still listed with an inflated number of victories.
Mick Mannock, as can be seen by the credibly sourced victory listing in his article, had 61 victories confirmed. Mannock's close friend, James Ira Thomas Jones survived the war. Jones detested Billy Bishop as much as he adulated Mannock, so when Jones wrote Mannock's biography, he jacked up his friend's score to one above Bishop's score (which is a whole another cauldron of contention). (Does this incident remind one of some sort of military soap opera?)
Looks like Mannock must be re-ranked. There will probably be a chorus of howling protest about it from the fanboys.
