Is Borredà a woman?
[edit]"She refers to abstractions personified as feminine, and also for the soul, a city, a country, an army, the Church, and others" (Emphasis added). So the answer to your question is yes.
- Um, no. That is a linguistic convention, and has no bearing on heraldic reality. → ROUX ₪ 10:39, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- To be fair, language and heraldry are both conventional symbolic systems, equally connected to and equally detached from 'reality'. But they are distinct symbolic systems, so the conventions of one need not tell us anything about the other. —Tamfang (talk) 16:12, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
scope
[edit]So far the article has been about woman armigers, but I think it would be useful to also discuss woman heralds such as Claire Boudreau. Arlo James Barnes 23:37, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
