Translator?
[edit]It's hard to see how, given that his editions of the Welsh laws are in Latin. (The idea that he translated them into Latin doesn't work, either, since the Welsh themselves already did that in the earliest surviving copies of their laws). Was he simply an effective editor of the existing MSS.? or are there unpublished translations into English somewhere? — LlywelynII 14:58, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
See the cited article by Stoker which has a section which explains in detail Wotton's role as a translator and how he recovered the mediaeval Welsh legal terminology which had been lost by the 18th century. The article is freely available via the NLW website.--Das48 (talk) 22:51, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
