This was William Baillie of Dunain, Inverness. The new Oxford DNB should have done some basic research and identified him properly - it would have needed no more than a look at Charles Fraser-Mackintosh's "letters of Two Centuries" which is online in toto, but their man couldn't be bothered. See NRAS 4716 (Highland no longer makes its previously excellent handlist available online, since they are now run by a commercial organisation. But the papers are referrred to on the website and cover the period after 1705). The Highland website, Am Baile, has online images of letters addressed to him in India.
