Clarification

Ehrenkater, regarding the clarification tag, to me the sentence makes sense, but I appreciate that it may not be as clear as I imagine it to be. "Past Ilkley and Otley" could mean "as [the river flows] past Ilkley and Otley", i.e. in the vicinity of those places, or it could mean "once it has flowed past Ilkley and Otley", i.e. further downstream; or maybe even both.
