Hi, Dan. Thanks for your suggested edit of the Hammersmith & West London College additions under your heading of “recentism”. I understand and accept your point about the overall balance of the relevant section. What I would request in your proposed edit, however, is that a clear reference is made to the college’s plan to demolish the existing Hammersmith campus as part of their proposals. In your proposed edit this is not made entirely clear ie “redevelop” could be misconstrued as repurposing the existing structure, which is not what the college authorities intend. Given that in the preceding paragraphs of the story we are taking about the architectural merit of the existing structure that is an important point. Recentism

This edit by Aljie013 represents a recent event that, I believe, does not yet merit inclusion in the article. Apparently, there is an ongoing dispute over redevelopment of the West London campus. I believe that, as the issue is still under dispute and not yet resolved, it should not be included, or, at the very least, should not merit full 1/4 of the total article content. At this point, a brief mention of the development plans, with equal mention of the local community opposition, is all that is required. I recommend:

In May, 2018, the West London College campus applied for permission to redevelop their campus as a luxury residence block, with a new facility within the redeveloped block to house the college. The local community organized to oppose the development. As of May 2020, the matter remains unresolved.

Hi, Dan, I am new to Wikipedia so apologies if I have just inadvertently published my reply to you on the “Talk” page of this article. Here is what my reply said: thanks for your comments and proposed edit of my additions. I understand and accept the comment about the need for balance in the article. What I would request in your proposed new edit, however, is that a clearer reference be made to the fact that the college plan is to demolish the existing structure. In your proposed edit, this is not entirely clear ie you talk of “redevelopment”. This could be misconstrued as repurposing or renovating the existing structure, which is not the college’s intention. Given that the preceding paragraphs in this article are talking about the architectural merits of the existing structure, this is an important and relevant point. The local community, valuing the architectural heritage of the existing structures, organized to oppose the development. As of January 2020, the matter remained unresolved.

Move two pages, one titled Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College and the other titled West London College

I'm not sure using the the template below will work for me as I am not sure what to write where. Can I try making my request as follows and please let me know if it makes sense or not? Please move the page name Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College so that it is renamed/moved to become West London College. Please move the page of West London College to become West London College (1977). The current URL for this page is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_London_College

The rationale for the proposed change is: 1. About two years ago Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College changed its name to West London College, so renaming the Wikipedia page to West London College brings it into line with the college's current name.

2. Currently google is mixing up the Wikipedia and map details of the former West London College with the current West London College (www.wlc.ac.uk formerly Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College) when someone enters West London College as a search term into Google. This is confusing to former students of the old West London College who contact us with queries such as copies of exam certificates.

3. Moving/renaming West London College to West London College (1977) will differentiate it from the currently operational West London College and this may sort out the confusion that is happening with Google.

• West London College is a current public institution and dates back to the 19th century. The other is a short lived independent one, and the article only has three references. Frankly, there is very little information about the latter institution and it's because it lacks notability by comparison. --Jf81 (talk) 18:16, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

• Support. Fwiw, this article has received more than three times the page views in the last three months. Even the dab page gets more views than the (1977–2017) article. That and long-term significance says "primary topic" to me. P.I. Ellsworth  ed. ^put'r there 02:55, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
