Ammennusastia

[edit]

As a native speaker of Finnish, I'd like to point out that Ammennusastia ("a dish to draw from") was indeed the name of the Christian newsletter. The group that published it was Vaeltajat, i.e. "the Wanderers". I am sure you can corroborate this from some other source too. 07:43, 26 October 2020 (UTC)~

Oh the wtf.

[edit]

There's an Over 9000 reference in here. Whose fault? Doubt it should be edited out though. HollowAnthem (talk) 23:45, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced and POV tags

[edit]

Unsourced - There are zero references in the section about the history of the hoax.

POV - At the very least, the line about "apparently without anyone checking its veracity, before landing back in the lap of the Trinity Broadcasting Network" smacks of POV. Jinxmchue 02:31, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

??? - Wow, the author references Stubs as proof? Stubs does the same thing by referencing another source and so on and so on! I tried following the rat race and wound right back at Wiki. . . The "proof" they offer that the well to hell is a hoax came from some critics POV said time and time again. I have seen more proof of it's authenticity; guess it's for you to decide —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.227.185.35 (talk) 00:14, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, the irony. 24.211.215.187 (talk) 21:17, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What was supposed to be causing the screaming sound? "Souls" don't have voices because they're not physical things. So presumably it would have to be something that didn't melt or vaporise at 2000°C......ghosts made out of tungsten?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.198.33.252 (talk) 15:04, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Her?

[edit]

The very last part says "the sounds were of blck a grey demons holding her up." Who was "her"? ~ R.T.G 08:13, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Newsflash!!! The Soviet Union no longer exists

[edit]

I've changed "the Soviet Union" to "the Murmansk Oblast, Russia" in the first sentence. For those who may be a little confused by my action: the Soviet Union has not existed for quite some time now.

This article needs to be longer.

[edit]

It needs more information about the originators of the hoax.....and the like. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.180.169.14 (talk) 05:29, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1906 Missouri hole

[edit]

Isn't there an urban legend about a "hole to hell" that was found in Missouri in 1906? The 1975 Rod Serling TV special "Encounter with the Unknown" had a segment covering it. (The special was actually Serling's final credit, as he died in June of that year.)--71.237.221.39 (talk) 08:39, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1999?

[edit]

The text starts off with "The legend holds that in 1999, some Russian scientists of Siberia (Russia)". Shouldn't that be 1989? Nobody else noticed this? Vmelkon (talk) 12:26, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agung.karjono This page is for discussion on how to improve this article. What are you suggesting we should do to improve it? Doug Weller talk 13:25, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Doug Weller frankly I do not have any idea how to improve it, because this urban legend is not well known in Indonesia Agung.karjono (talk) 04:28, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
