1998 was an El Nino, not La Nina year. 2000 was a La Nina year. This has ramifications for the assertion that the river floods 'almost always in La Nina years' —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.9.230.81 (talk) 02:42, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ward River and separate articles for other tributaries

[edit]

I just created the Ward River, a tributary of the Warrego River and noticed it was difficult to find reliable sources online. It leads me to question the need for separate articles for each and all rivers that are tributaries in Australia when they could have a section on their respective mainstem river's article. It is the same for the Jordan River stub I have drafted, a tributary of the Barcoo River. Are all rivers inherently notable and should they all have separate articles or are sections adequate for remote or lesser known waterways? I will also pose the question on the WikiProject Rivers talk page. - Shiftchange (talk) 13:55, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Ward River is not a tributary of the Warrego River, but of the Langlo River, which, in return, is a tributary of the Warrego River. More information you will find at www.bonzle.com. --MartinHansV (talk) 12:21, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
