Mördenzentrale
[edit]That's not even German.2A02:AA1:101B:3779:94BE:18F3:2929:6A1A (talk) 07:40, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
- Google Books lets you see a preview Snippet of Bernhard, 2005 here. It's correctly spelled "Mörderzentrale" there, although I can't see the beginning of the sentence and get its meaning. ΟΥΤΙΣ (talk) 08:58, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
- Found the cited sentence in full in a Google Books preview for another edition:
- "5. The Freikorps used terror to suppress working-class resistance and established an assassination center (Mörderzentrale) under the command of Waldemar Pabst in the Hotel Eden, which claimed KPD leaders Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg among its first victims.", then Bernhard names Elias, 1996 p. 214 as his source at the end of the paragraph.
- It is unclear, from where Bernhard takes that strange German word, roughly meaning "Murderers center". It is certainly not a historical self-advertisement, as the murderers acted in secrecy.
- Since the statement in its current form implies that "Mörderzentrale" was used historically and the source does not support that, I will delete it. ΟΥΤΙΣ (talk) 12:06, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
- And it's totally Misleading. It was the leftists that initiated violence there. What Waldemar Pabst and others did was merely a reaction to it. 105.8.3.198 (talk) 12:51, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
