This source has an interesting and detailed history of the park written by one of its owners. Pat 07:13, 27 May 2007 (UTC) Google Books preview[reply]

POV Dispute

[edit]

What needs to be changed to meet your POV objections, Trey? --Pat 21:20, 6 July 2007 (UTC) Lacking a response, I am removing the POV objection from the page. It can always be restored if someone disagrees, but kindly provide a reason so any problems can be adjusted.--Pat 22:31, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Translation of name?

[edit]

I don't think it's completely accurate to say that the name of the park literally translates to "woods by the sea" - "Wald" is in fact woods/forest and "Meer" is in fact sea/ocean in German, but Waldameer doesn't seem like a real German compound. The "a" in the center doesn't make sense to me. 2601:180:8300:6B0:D16B:3F94:7E25:854A (talk) 01:02, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can remove the word "literally" from the description, but I think the letter a was added because "Waldmeer" sounds odd and isn't quite as catchy a name. Blubewwy (talk) 03:23, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Book series?

[edit]

Should the Waldameer Mystery Files children's book series be mentioned? The books' setting is Waldameer, they weave in Waldameer history, and are written by David Gorman, grandson of Paul Nelson and son of Steve Gorman. Thoughts? 74.110.216.44 (talk) 14:20, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's not unusual to add a section "In popular culture" to an article and make mention of related books or TV show appearances. See Cedar Point#In popular culture as an example — particularly the second paragraph.JlACEer (talk) 15:42, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Multiple sources indicate David is Steve's son and the grandson of the late Paul Nelson.JlACEer (talk) 14:12, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
