[edit]This is poor. First, Machiavelli doesn't 'theorize' the concept of virtu. Secondly, the word is simply the Italian word for virtue. Machiavelli uses the word in a surprising way that has a lot to do with his theoretical innovations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.13.178.40 (talk) 14:02, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
As 78.13.178.40 said. 'Virtù' is nothing but the Italian word for 'virtue', and Machiavelli just happens to write in Italian. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 185.190.204.73 (talk) 17:02, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with the above remarks. This article is a hodge podge of some specific ideas about virtue/arete and gives the reader no context or connection to the bigger tradition.--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 11:20, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
