This page needs some more information on the early days, when they were called Showroom. Early shows and festivals might help, I remember one at The Indie Temple, and a 4ZZZFM festival but I'm sure there are more. A reference for their support tour with The Grate would be great, and they supported Grinspoon once didn't they? The shows in Melbourne, the St Jeromes Laneway Festival recently... Heaps of info to work with but I couldn't be arsed doing much more at the moment. I don't know how to reference a source that isn't available on the internet. The Blunt Magazine review is in their 50th issue, from approx June 2006. If someone can work out how to do this, and which exact issue it was that would help. I have only seen it quoted elsewhere on the web. There's an interview in it as well. There are other reference sources that could be added but can't be found easily on the web. I'm also thinking that something could be added about their upcoming CD (EP or album?) I've heard it's going to be June 2008. Oh - something should be added about the shoe incident at The Zoo, and the subsequent return after banning. It kinda is part of soho folklore now. There is a reference in rave magazine online about that so should be easy. 266biggles the band is influenced heavely on nirvana and led zeppelin(talk) 11:04, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This page has been tagged as possibly not being notable. Since then I have added 3 third-party references. Can this notability be reviewed and possibly un-tagged as such? Or does it need more work? 266biggles (talk) 14:46, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK I have now added a reference for national rotation on a national radio network in Australia, which satisfies the notability requirements for music. How do I remove the tag that says it is possibly not notable?

There should definitely be a separate article for the new Self Titled album. I'm a total noob at this stuff (i barely even know how to sign my name! haha) else i would do it.

I changed the genre from Alternative rock / Post grunge revivial to Alternative Metal / Post grunge. The reason for this is because generally their latest record is a lot heavier than most alt. rock, making it metal, and there is no such genre as post grunge revival. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.202.45.168 (talk) 18:58, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They announced a new album this year, so I figured it was time to break away from the "I Oh You Signing" section. It needs some cleaning up, but I think it's a step in the right direction. KevinAndyFrench (talk) 16:47, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Grunge

[edit]

Ok, so there seems to be a little confusion on here about the genres post-grunge & grunge. The term grunge refers to Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden & a few other bands such as Mother Love Bone. You can see the list of Grunge bands on that page. Bands that came along after these bands & were influenced by them, are refered to as post-grunge. I've noticed there's a user called Shelbystripes, who's been editing band pages & changing post-grunge to grunge, or just adding grunge. He's even had an member banned for correcting him on his errors. I don't know what Wiki policies are, but I think it's nice to have to the accurate genre used. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.51.183.104 (talk) 18:40, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:GWAR. I have only been reverting edits by anonymous users (possibly the same anonymous user) violating WP:GWAR, and in this case, I even added multiple citations that describe the band as "grunge". Your narrow and purist definition of "grunge" is not universally accepted. You will be reported and subject to administrative action if you continue to violate WP:GWAR. Shelbystripes (talk) 20:34, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
For the benefit of others, I will also add that another anonymous IP was making the exact same edits yesterday on multiple pages, and using the same tone tone/grammar in their edit summaries. Please see the edit history for Toadies as another example, where I was one of three registered Wikipedia editors repeatedly reverting those edits. That IP address was banned after being reported; if I see anonymous edits resembling the same user, I will move rapidly to warn them and then request a ban if they continue violating WP:GWAR. My word. You're really passionate about this, aren't you? I'm just trying to help the articles by correcting the term Grunge. "Narrow definition" is a ridiculous thing to say. Violent Soho are a post-grunge band, not a grunge band. That's a fact that you can't seem to get your head around because you have some vendetta. It's pretty darn pathetic I must say. 31.51.183.104 (talk) 22:35, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The sources cited call the band grunge. I suppose you could call them "grunge revival" since the style has been mostly dead since the 1990s, but they are not post-grunge. Post-grunge is a distinct from grunge and characterised by less punk influence; it's basically mainstream hard rock inspired by grunge. Violent Soho, on the other hand, are similar to original grunge bands. Please don't revert the edit again without adding sources that call the band post-grunge.--MASHAUNIX 23:51, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I added sources, but they were removed. You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. Post-grunge bands came after the original grunge bands. It doesn't matter what they sound like. I tried to correct some errors that I saw on some pages, but you guys keep reverting them even though you have no idea what grunge is. Fuck y'all.

Are they lame?

[edit]

I think they are very good band 95.50.71.66 (talk) 13:31, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
