Definition and reference in this article unclear

[edit]

The title of this article says vegetarian soap, the listed products are mostly plant based. Does this article only include vegan soaps or do some of the mentioned commercial products contain animal products (which is mainly the difference between vegetarianism and veganism)? For me it's not really clearly visible. Thanks! --huggi - never stop exploring (talk) 08:52, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed the title. Really, this article is only about vegan soap. If somebody wants to write about a wider conception of "vegetarian soap", then he or she can do it on the page "Vegetarian soap" which is now redirect. --D.M. from Ukraine (talk) 21:23, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sources demanded

This article has a prominent note:

Now, I have not contributed to this article, but as a vegan I would ask what exact sources are needed for the main body ( the rest are links to prominent brands ) composed of rather self-explanatory facts ?

Vegan soap (or vegetable soap) is made from fats or oils of vegetable origin rather than from saponified tallow or other animal fats. These soaps are preferred by vegans and may be preferred by vegetarians. In addition to fats, the other main ingredient is either wood ash, potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide.
