He was. Pushkin is not the only case. Some sources are available. I will add the info when I have time. But we should not concentrate on that too much. This was an amazing figure and that's great that we now have an article to build on. --Irpen 04:21, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Appropriation of Ukrainian Culture and Science

This situation is terrible. For half of history, they tried to destroy Ukraine, kill its language, and appropriate its culture. In this way, Gogol, Karazin, Aivazovsky, Malevich and others were appropriated. They wanted to appropriate even Skovoroda and Shevchenko, but, fortunately, they did not succeed. There were 57 bans on the Ukrainian language in the Russian Empire and the USSR. Having stolen our history (Kyiv Rus'), they glorified themselves. Having stolen the name of the Ukrainian indigenous people (Rusyns), they say that our state belongs to them. They say that we are "brothers" or that we are "small Russians", thus humiliating our people and killing our self-awareness. And those who fought for freedom and Ukrainian independence were shot (Shooted Revival, Red Terror). It's not even that they don't agree - Ukrainians were even killed simply because they were Ukrainians (3 Holodomors, the Kolyma tragedy, the Kyiv Fire, the brazen attack on the Ukrainian People's Republic) This war did not start on February 24, and not in 2014. I think it would be appropriate to fix the article to say that he is a ukranian, because he was born in ukraine(Kharkiv Governorate) and worked there for a long time for example on V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Farkon00 (talk) 11:42, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
