Origin, history and contribution
[edit]There is a need to confirm the origin of VNS metaheuristics. The ideas of VNS are actually quite old as also mentioned in this book: Rothlauf F (2011). Design of modern heuristics: principles and application. Springer Science & Business Media, pp 134-139.
Further, the following sentences conflict each other in the current version and requires a correction:
"Variable neighborhood search (VNS),[1] proposed by Mladenović, Hansen, 1997,[2] is...."
"According to (Mladenovic, 1995), VNS is a metaheuristic which....."
