[edit]Someone write an entry on the history of the van ness name... any relation to Van Ness St. in San Francisco?
Well, the information currently in the article (that Van Ness is derived from the businesses in the area) is incorrect. The name derives from Van Ness Street NW, which intersects Connecticut Avenue NW a block south of the station entrance. So I'm removing that. The Van Ness that SF and DC streets are named after is probably a revolutionary war hero or some such. 74.73.86.222 02:59, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
