Just a couple of things that need adding - the early post-glacial lake on which Star Carr is situated; Lake Flixton. Also, I seem to remember someone telling me that the Domesday book entry describes the eastern end of the Vale as a wasteland. This partially explains the lack of Roman and Medieval intrusion into the prehistoric material in the wetland between Seamer and Cayton. I'll try and chase references and add these when I can but if anyone knows the area better than me I think it would be great to add these. Good article otherwise.
