Hi! Will get to this soon. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 07:11, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lead
  • Would be good to add if the volcano is dormant or active in the first line
  • I think you linked "sea level" or rather "mean sea level" in Coropuna?
  • and its summit is 6,008 metres (19,711 ft) above sea level. The volcano has two summits Which summit is being referred to in the first line? It may suddenly confuse the reader.
  • Starting in 1992 satellite observations Comma after 1992
  • It might be helpful to the reader to add a few words on what "fumarolic activity" means. This is a vital point, and links are basically to learn more on the topic.
  • its summit is 6,008 metres (19,711 ft) above sea level. The volcano has two summits This part seems to be missing from the main article (excluding the infobox), though it is really important.
Geography and geology
  • Could lava dome, silicic, igneous rock be linked?
  • What does "reconnaissance geology" mean? Link or explain such difficult terms.
Still unclear. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 14:26, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • estimated 50 million tonnes Can be converted to long and short tons using convert templates.
  • Laguna Celeste lies at the foot of the volcano and is fed by snow melt from the volcano's northeastern side. Mama Khumu, a lake on the western side of the volcano, is also fed from it Can be combined.
  • at depths of 2–4 kilometres (1.2–2.5 mi) or 5.7 kilometres (3.5 mi) Two different depths?
Regional setting
  • subduction 12 mya the subduction comma after "mya"
  • ignimbrite is a duplink
Local setting
  • Duplinks: ignimbritic, dacite, mya
  • It may be good to give an idea of how long ago the Neogene was.
  • "Fault" would be a good link
Climate and glaciation
  • are scarcely recorded I think "have been" is more proper than "are".
  • episode where the Altiplano comma after "episode"
  • "Lake Tauca" lake episode When exactly did this take place?
Eruptive history
  • Duplinks: mya (in Pre-Holocene); Lascar, Lastarria, Altiplano–Puna volcanic complex (in Recent unrest)
  • "unstable hydromagmatic system"(Recent unrest) What is that?

That should be it. Good luck! Sainsf <^>Feel at home 17:45, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Sainsf: Worked on most issues, a few comments:

  • Not sure how to combine the Laguna Celeste sentences.
Actually it is not clear what "it" in is also fed from it means; does it specifically mean the volcano's northeastern side or some other side but still the volcano? If it is the northeastern side as well, we can reword it as "Laguna Celeste, that lies at the foot of the volcano, and Mama Khumu, a lake on the western side of the volcano, are fed by snow melt from the volcano's northeastern side." If the second case, then "Laguna Celeste lies at the foot of the volcano and is fed by snow melt from the volcano's northeastern side. Mama Khumu, a lake on the western side of the volcano, is also fed from the volcano".
  • Two different depths because different studies came to two different conclusions.
Then this should be clarified. How about "stored at depths given differently as 2–4 kilometres (1.2–2.5 mi) and 5.7 kilometres (3.5 mi) by studies, and temperatures of 870 °C (1,600 °F)" ?
  • No comma after "12 mya", the 12 mya date refers to the steepening of the subduction.
Alright.
  • The Neogene is the curren geologic epoch; should it say when it started?
Yes, it would be good to add that.
  • "have been" suggests to me that the climate recording has improved recently, something that seems unsupported to me.
If so, we can do without this.
  • The Tauca episode doesn't seem to have a clear timeframe; however "deep lake Tauca cycle" has. Shall its dates be used?
If it is not different from what is being discussed here, then adding the date will be helpful.

That's for now.Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 12:51, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • About "fumarolic", I should have been clearer. I did not ask you to link it, it is already linked earlier. I requested you to add a brief explanation of what the term means, it can help readers who don't wish to chase links. And I have often been encouraged to do so as well. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 14:37, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Alright, @Sainsf: based on feedback:
  1. I took out the "mean" in "mean sea level" in Coropuna since it appears to create confusion; generally "sea level" refers to the same thing.
  2. I've taken out the "reconnaissance" and replaced it with "geological inspection".
  3. For "fumarolic", would "emission of steam" work as an explanation?
  4. Went with the second alternative for the Laguna Celeste sentence.
  5. Rewrote the sentence on the storage depths.
  6. Since the start of ignimbritic activity is not the same as the start of the Neogene apparently, I've added the actual date for the start of ignimbritic volcanism.
  7. Added Tauca timeframe.

I am happy with the proposed and implemented changes. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 16:27, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I believe this is ready for promotion now. Cheers! Sainsf (talk · contribs) 16:44, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
