This law is only temporary
[edit]It should be noted that the law called "Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act" just establishes an exemption via the DMCA exemption process, and all DMCA exemptions expire. It does NOT establish an alternate, and permanent, (separate from the DMCA) right of US citizens to unlock their phones. As such, this WILL expire after a time, making the act of unlocking phones, once again BECOME ILLEGAL, if the exemption isn't renewed by its expiration date (or made permanent by some other law).
