Combat Death of a Stockton Crew Member

On the Wikipedia page for the USS Stockton DD-646 the following statement, “While off Biak, she received minor damage when hit by a shell from a shore battery on 28 May”. That statement fails to take into account the death of one of Stockton’s crew members. I’m sure to him, and his family it was not a minor damage situation. My father, now deceased, Calvin D. Sprowls served aboard the Stockton and the man killed that day was a good friend. Unfortunately I do not recall that sailor’s name, but May he Rest In Peace.
