End of season 3

[edit]

I did some research into whether or not Season 3 has officially ended - it in fact appears that it has, and that also the History Channel is not renewing it for a season 4. There are many rumors flying around as to why ranging from "poor ratings" to "it was getting 'too close to revealing the truth' and History was told to take it off the air". Whichever you believe, it is clear the series has ended and will not be renewed because Bill Birnes is currently running an online petition to have the show brought back. You can find the petition link on the UFO Magazine website. In the meantime I've removed the last episodes of Season 3 because they aren't going to be aired - in fact it looks like they were supposed to be part of season 4. If they were made, (and before this Birnes said on Caost to Coast AM that he was working on them), they may be on the season 3 DVD if one is produced. Maybe another network will pick up the show, but until then as far as the article is considered it's ended. I will try and keep on top of the show's development and if anything changes I will indicate that in the article as necessary. Cyberia23 (talk) 18:10, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You should not have removed the remaining unaired episodes. They should have been kept with the specification of them being unaired. 70.245.31.182 (talk) 21:10, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I took them off because there was no official source for these episodes - the info I found originally came from the History Channel's forums where a fan said they were being made and he listed the titles. He said they were from Bill Birne's Twitter page but I couldn't verify it. I don't know if they were even finished or if they had even started on them yet when History pulled the plug. I'd leave them off unless the show returns for sure. Cyberia23 (talk) 21:46, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On a June interview on Coast to Coast AM, Bill Birnes commented that the last 5(?) episodes would air in July. This of course didn't happen. Birnes talked a little about the episodes and, of course, promised the season would end with a bang and getting people anxious for season 4. My personal take is that the only reason why shows would get canceled prior to them finishing the season is because of extremely poor ratings. Then again, I think there were a lot of old school Hitory Channell buffs who complained that History channel would air this "nonsense show". Anyway, I believe the episodes need to be put back up with the clarificaiton being that they are unaired. Also, they were not part of Season 4, as I listend to Birnes specifically state that the remaining episodes of season 3 would air in July. 70.231.34.36 (talk) 20:55, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May I add the following detail?: There is no narration in the episodes of the third season. Instead, it is replaced with dialogue and interviews with the three UFO Hunters.--66.74.131.74 (talk) 22:49, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Theme song

[edit]

Not sure where to put this in the main article, but the theme song for the show is called "The Only One" by Operator, from their album Soulcrusher. - Sharpbrood (talk) 07:35, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It would go under "Production Notes" as an added section. Was that for 1st season? The songs changed between seasons. Season two has no vocals. Cyberia23 (talk) 23:54, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Starchild skull

[edit]

I added the internal link Starchild skull, which seems well-known among ufologists, cryptozoologists, and astrobiologists.--72.134.52.191 (talk) 00:53, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tagline

[edit]

May the tagline "Hoax or History?" be added?--72.134.52.191 (talk) 00:53, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Case # question

[edit]

What's the deal with the Case # introducing each episode? What does it stand for and how is it determined? Is it just a gimmick?--72.134.52.191 (talk) 00:53, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Probably a gimmick to make it "look offical"... the numbers aren't in a particualar order and really make no sense to anyone but the UFO Hunters. Cyberia23 (talk) 07:09, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Official website

[edit]

The look of the website has been greatly changed with a new map of sightings.

article name change

[edit]

well, not really change, but since it's a title of a proper tv show, the caps need to be fixed, as UFO Hunters. thank you. PippaMaru (talk) 00:01, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What are you talking about? The "H" in the name is capitalized. Cyberia23 (talk) 06:25, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orbs

[edit]

Can an orb also refer to orb (optics) and will-o'-the-wisp? --Twinsday (talk) 00:56, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

These "orbs" are supposedly different - not ghost orbs, or ball lightning, or dust particles - I remember the original write up of the episode on History said the orbs were related to earthquake activity which would make them "earthlights" which are balls of plasma or something. I didn't get a chance to actually watch the new episode so i don't know for sure what they actually investigated. Cyberia23 (talk) 07:38, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Just want to point out to 85.83.19.103, that the petition link they keep posting is old news. It's been up on UFO Magazine's site for months, ever since earlier this year when History originally dropped series and didn't air the last 4 episodes until last month. So it's really pointless to try and repost it now. SkeezerPumba (talk) 06:04, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone else hear about this?....

[edit]

I've been watching this series online, on youtube. I had just gotten to episode three, and started my normal routine for online videos. Normally, I'll take the oppertunity to read a few of the comments on the video, while giving the video a few brief moments to load. One in particular caught my eye. It was a conversation between the uploader of the video, and two other people. The video, and the comments I'm about to reference can be found here. That said, in case it's no longer up when you go there, or the comments are removed, or (insert random guess here),.... the following is the conversation I am referencing:

·@nz19771190 One thing I do give them credit for {which most people do not know} are the "fetus" pictures from their "Dulce" ep.. are very very real and spawned federal legislation against animal/human hybridation. This law was reported in the media but it's root came from the disclosure of those photos on this show. Albeit heroic, it got them canceled. hunterswine 6 months ago

·@hunterswine SERIOUSLY?? I've got all 3 seasons on the way up so this should be interesting :P Thanks! Time4TruthDOTorg 6 months ago

·@nz19771190 Ya, it's more of an entertainment show rather than a documentary style - fact based search for ET, but at least these guys did try, and still are trying to get the truth. I have uploaded all the ancient alien episodes by the history channel. They are really interesting. You should check them out if you haven't already. Time4TruthDOTorg 6 months ago

Now, with that out of the way, the specific section to which I am refering I have bolded. Has anyone else heard about this, and if so, should we add it to the article? Can we cite a souce somehow? -Poodle of Doom (talk) 03:14, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I never heard of any fetus pictures causing the show to get canceled. From what I understand (just like what is going on for Ancient Aliens) is too many people complaining about the show and the ratings not being good enough is what got it canned. Of course certain people will say they were exposing the truth and the gov shut them up. Anyway I highly doubt the chat comments are true and is just speculation unsupported by verifiable evidence, so no it shouldn't be brought up in the article. the article's job is just inform about the show and what it's episodes were about - the behind the scenes drama can be discussed elsewhere, because it's all speculative. Cyberia23 (talk) 03:06, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was referencing the spawning of the law in particular, however, the point remains the same. Thanks for your input! :) -Poodle of Doom (talk) 22:42, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to restart this conversation, siting this video. This implies the same thing I was commenting on above. The conversation is a radio interview with the shows host, Bill Birnes. -Poodle of Doom (talk) 20:10, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And then there's this. Does anyone think something about the shows cancelation should be put in? -Poodle of Doom (talk) 23:18, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Catching UFO

[edit]

I found that using a laser pointer you can sometimes catch the beam reflecting off of something invisible. 71.84.87.45 (talk) 19:13, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source saying that? StellarNerd (talk) 20:25, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Did it myself their is something invisible flying around up their. 71.84.87.45 (talk) 02:06, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
