"The Magdalene Laundries"

[edit]

A song called "The Magdalene Laundry" written by J Mulhern appears on the 1992 album Sentimental Killer recorded in 1991 by Mary Coughlan, and has the chorus line "Ooh Lord won't you let me wash away the stain". Same song? ... dave souza, talk 08:47, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Commercial success ?

[edit]

Why is this said to be "one of her most commercially ... successful releases" when, according to the Joni Mitchell page, no fewer than 14 of her preceding albums, from "Clouds" through to "Night Ride Home", achieved higher placings on the US charts ? Just curious. Ghmyrtle 21:56, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Christgau is not God.

[edit]

Why is Robert Christgau often the only critic listed in the "Professional Ratings" category of Joni's albums? When did he become God? Most people don't even know who he is, yet he is omnipresent on Wikipedia. He's either adding his own name himself, or getting someone else to do it. You want to list ratings from individual publications or sites, fine. But one critic shouldn't dominate the review sections on Wikipedia. And he is. I just brought up Carole King's "Tapestry" article on Wikipedia ... and there he is again ... the only individual rock critic listed.

Wikipedia needs to stop him from dominating the Professional Ratings sections. I thought I'd post this before I started taking his name off. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.161.243.244 (talk) 14:22, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
