Trowse → Trowse Newton – This is the name of the settlement. It appears that the there was a settlement called "Trowse" to the north east of "Trowse Newton" and a settlement called "Newton" to the east[1] however this article appears to deal with mainly the "Trowse Newton" part and also discusses other parts. The ONS BUA (which is concurrent with the parish) is also "Trowse Newton" The parish is as noted called "Trowse with Newton" but may well be an alternative name for "Trowse Newton" and like Aston-on-Trent (village) and Aston upon Trent (parish) generally we use the village's name of the parish is an alternative name. The article could be split but it doesn't seem likely "Trowse" and "Newton" are notable and it would probably be better to have them in 1 article. The parish could be split but as noted it seems like its synonymous with the village "Trowse Newton". Thoughts on what to do? Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:41, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose. The council certainly thinks the village is called Trowse.[2][3][4][5] -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:10, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
