Fair use rationale for Image:The Hoosiers - Trick to Life.jpg

[edit]

Image:The Hoosiers - Trick to Life.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The Ampersand on the cover

[edit]

Could users please stop adding the ampersand symbol (&) to the album's title, this isn't infact part of the album name, but intended to signify that the album is performed by the band.ChappyTC 22:37, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Someone put all the track listed to rhyme. Was this vandalism? I thought it was but I am uncertain. Thundermaster367 13:57, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Similarity

[edit]

Part of "A Sadness Runs through it", sounds very like A Day in the Life, by the Beatles. Is this intentional like the other songs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.112.88.80 (talk) 21:36, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You mean the "sadness runs through-oo-oo-ooooooo-oooo it" bit? Yes, it is reminiscent of "tu-u-urn yo-o-ou o-o-o-o-on" in the Beatles track, but a side-by-side comparison show that those bars are not so close after all (both melody and production-wise). It's worth also noting that Worried About Ray was enough like The Turtles' Happy Together that the band were forced to split song-writing credits with the authors of that song; much has been made of the similarity of Goodbye Mr. A and ELO's Mr. Blue Sky. And let's not even start on Cops and Robbers and The Cure's The Love Cats — there's homage, and then there's cheap rip-off. I know which side of the line The Hoosiers fall in my opinion. Album Title : "& The Trick To Life"

[edit]

I'm holding the CD case in my hand right now and on the side it's clearly written "& The Trick To Life" as the title of the album. Shouldn't we edit the article title ? Has anyone information that confirms either title to be the right one ? Marc Navatier (talk) 13:29, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
