Bizarre confusion
[edit]OK, an editor has pointed out that the photo on the AEL Limassol website is of Tony Dwayne, and though I'm unfamiliar with either that sure isn't Tony Lee's face. But it calls him Tony Lee Harris, uses Tony Lee's birthdate, and apparently includes some of Tony Lee's career as well as Tony Dwayne's brief Celtics stint, and lists Tony Dwayne's height. As far as I can tell.
This is Tony in his WSU uniform for reference. This LatinBasket.com photo appears to be him. However, this LatinBasket.com photo appears to be a third Tony Harris formerly of the Tennessee Vols (makes sense) and the Brevard Blue Ducks and this year the Albany Patroons. It's supposedly Universo's 2007-08 lineup, though.
So what we have is three Tony Harrises bouncing around non-NBA basketball. Surely they were confused more than once. Is there any chance any of these teams was confused about who they were hiring? (And is there the faintest chance that has anything to do with things unraveling?) I hesitate to ask the question. --Dhartung | Talk 03:09, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- (To avoid having a discussion at the wrong place) If pro players are notable by default, then he could be notable, if he played for the Brazilian team. --Howard the Duck 02:45, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Tony's wife was eight months pregnant at the time of his disappearance (her due date is about Dec. 11). Tony has a 14-year-old son from a previous relationship, and the son lives in Seattle with his mother. I am the wife's step-father and Tony's father-in-law. Tony played in Korea and South America. I don't believe he played in Cyprus or Greece. He had played in Brazil before, and the Brazilian team did know who they were getting when they asked him to return.
