Page needs to be brought up to standard. Also, page reads like the text from a player's card or game programme. Is it copyrighted material? Larry 1624 11:15, 21 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Lead
  • Should "player of the season" be "Player of the Season" like it is in the article that it links to? This applies in other places in the article as well.
    • Actioned throughout the article.
Personal life
  • The personal life section seems fine.
Career section
  • Is it important that Sheffield United had a base in Amersham?
    • Amersham, Watford and London (where Millwall are based) are all within commuting distance of Hemel Hempstead, whereas Sheffield is 150 miles away. The point is that he didn't move across the country to train with Sheffield United.
  • In the first paragraph, link to Sunday league football
    • Done
  • Instead of saying he made several appearances in 1998-99, say how many
    • Done
  • The paragraph about his time at Derby County needs expanding - about two years of his career have been condensed into three lines.
    • Expanded the Derby section, and condensed the Watford 2007-08 season. I think the weighting is pretty consistent now.
  • Link to Brendan Rodgers
    • Done (reluctantly).
  • "Portsmouth debut in a 1–0 Premier League defeat" → "Portsmouth debut in the 1–0 defeat" — it already says earlier in the paragraph that Portsmouth were in the Premier League
    • Removed Premier League.
  • Link to transfer window
    • Done

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
    B. MoS compliance:
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
    C. No original research:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
Many good articles on footballers have a "Style of play" section. Is there any chance of that here?
    B. Focused:
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
The article seems to be a bit biased towards his Watford career. For example he played almost 100 matches for Derby, but there is only one short paragraph about his time there, while the bits about Watford go into great detail. I think that perhaps a touch more could be added about his other clubs.
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
    B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:

Overall a pretty well-written article, and one I'd be happy to pass if the comments can be addressed. Placed on hold for now. -- BigDom 11:42, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
