Deleted
I have deleted this article due to multiple BLP violations (it was also crap). I've recreated as a stub, please feel free to fill it out, but remember to adhere to the biographies policy and give reliable citations at all points. I've blanked this talk page as some of the content was also problematic - but it may be found in the history. Thanks.--Docg 10:30, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
We want the full article back. Not fair!!! Oh yeah we are getting our page back!!!!!!!!
Recreating from stub
I feel strongly that having the list of references there, with titles leaning toward showing Leykis' misogyny, is not a good way to satisfy BLP. That's why I kept removing them with a note that the article needed to be written so that those links could be used to support it. If the links support actual text, I have no objection to having them. --uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 18:27, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Does anyone want to take a swing at producing an article here? We can use the {{editprotected}} template to get it in to the article once we have consensus on the wording.--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 00:20, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- I used to come here to check out the 'take me out' styles, but now they're gone :(. Was this violating some standard? That was my favorite part of the article.Kniesten (talk) 23:54, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Are you kidding me?
Why on earth was this article removed? Whoever did that needs to be banned from Wikipedia and it is this Doc user.
This user needs to be reviewed by an admin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.51.43.26 (talk) 03:19, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Doc is an admin. The article was removed for BLP reasons. -MBK004 03:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- What happened to the original version? Looks like the quality of information went down the toilet. It was like on par with the Rush Limbaugh Show. - 6etonyourfeet (talk?) 03:53, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- It like was? Homely (talk) 15:59, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- There's a old snapshot on answers.com but the Christina thing is interesting. They shoulda separate the article in two... most of the article was about the leykis show... to avoid the demanding requirements of WP:BLP. - 6etonyourfeet (talk?) 08:31, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- "Why on earth was this article removed? Whoever did that needs to be banned from Wikipedia and it is this Doc user." I think he WAS banned: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Doc_glasgow. Kind of makes sense after he swooped in out of nowhere and blotted out years of work by a multitude of contributors. --Victorcoutin (talk) 21:09, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Legal name?
Anyone know where the credible source of the legal name came from? IMDb seems like the only popular source, however, it's really not a reliable source from my past experience. Also, legal docs obtained from smoking gun refer to him as only "Tom Leykis". - 6etonyourfeet (talk?) 21:14, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- His dad's obit says it is "Tom". Tonessuit (talk) 03:10, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Tom himself has broadcast his name repeatedly on his show. He's self-described himself as 6-6-6, meaning 6 letters in all 3 of his names. acidedge76 (talk)13:41, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Magnolia
No mention of the Leykis parody in the film "Magnolia" with Tom Cruise playing the Leykis facsimile? 76.186.118.246 (talk) 06:42, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ross Jeffries was the inspiration for the character in Magnolia, cited in the wiki page on the topic (which may be why you thought it was a parody). --VictorC (talk) 08:37, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
A reference
If you have the time, please add info from AIRING AMERICA'S DIRTY LAUNDRY No sacred cows on the Leykis show to the article. Thanks. Tonessuit (talk) 03:09, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Tom's voice
I have been unable to find any concrete explanation for the obvious deterioration and loss of force in Leykis' voice over the years. One suggestion was that it is due to acid reflux, but this is unconfirmed.
Being a radio personality who is by and large only recognizable by his voice it seems certainly of note. It also seems to be constant and severe enough that it could be the result of a strong condition.
Does anyone have any information they might be able to add in this area? --JohnDoe0007 (talk) 02:08, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- Tom always blamed it on black mold that he had his house renovated to remove back in 2003 or 2004. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but it's the only explanation I've ever heard. acidedge76 (talk)10:59, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Mr. Hands
Wasn't Leykis the first to publicly reveal Mr. Hands real name? --24.21.220.126 (talk) 05:41, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Protect?
Leykis asked his fans on the 19 July 2013 show to screw with this article. Hence the current vandalism. -EmiOfBrie (talk) 00:55, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
