Reassessment Comments

[edit]

To move the article from C-class to B-class I would consider the follow at a minimum:

  1. Incorporate as many of the "see also" items into the article as would be logical; don't just shove them in anywhere.
  2. Consider adding other sections about Threats including how to prevent attacks, the business market that grew into existence to reduce threats, etc.

The article starts by saying "a threat is a possible danger that might exploit a vulnerability", which I think is a fair explanation of 'threat'. But then there's a section called "threats classification", which seems to be a mixed list - some are (natural) causes, some are ways things can go wrong - these are mostly not things that pose a danger as such.

Later there's use of the term "threat population", which is undefined and in the context doesn't work - it's trying to define Threat Agent. As a result there's no definition of Threat Agent, just a description of what actions they might take. When an attempt to define Threat Agent is made later in the section - "identify who would want to exploit the assets of a company" - it goes wrong, because as has already been alluded to, a Threat Agent might not intend to do any harm.

Also, the link to STRIDE is "broken" and I can only find the actual article in a Microsoft format I can't read, so I've not managed to repair it. Could do with a proper reference if there is one. SimonWiseman (talk) 12:47, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
