Andrew Carnegie

Having consulted with this organization's national headquarters, I am assured that Andrew Carnegie was not a member. If this edit is un-done again, please provide a citation. Franklin's Son (talk) 21:05, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Having dug further, this is no longer so assured. Records show an Andrew Carnegie initiated November 7, 1914. Further research is ongoing to determine if this is the same person, or a namesake, or possibly an honorary membership.Franklin's Son (talk) 16:19, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

The Andrew Carnegie who was initiated Nov 7, 1914 into Theta Xi at Pi chapter at Carnegie Tech (later Carnegie-Mellon) served as an officer of the chapter in 1915, according to Theta Xi's magazine at the time (The Theta Xi Quarterly). Since the famous industrialist made his last visit to Pittsburgh in October of 1914 in the company of his wife, it is unlikely that this is the same person who was initiated into Theta Xi.

Therefore I am removing the cite from here and from the Andrew Carnegie page. Franklin's Son (talk) 20:31, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Patron Saint

Benjamin Franklin is Theta Xi's patron Saint? Can some one in the fraternity verify this, or is it a falsification?Samwisep86 04:45, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

It's true. I am the one who included that to the info box. Today, I added the source as a footnote. Aaron charles 18:01, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
