Theros Block (Magic: The Gathering) → Theros Block – There is no other "Theros Block" article or topic for which the disambiguation (Magic: The Gathering) is needed as an appendage to the article name. Also, "Theros Block (Magic: The Gathering)" with the parenthetical is not the official name for the content if that is what we wanted to represent, nor is the parenthetical the way that the content is most commonly described when reliable sources or even street usage is discussing the subject. 67.220.13.43 (talk) 13:41, 8 September 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. - Comment' There is a lack of consistency in Category:Magic: The Gathering blocks. We see articles using "block" (Alara block, Urza block), parenthetical disambiguation (Ravnica (Magic: The Gathering)), or both (Masques Block (Magic: The Gathering). There's also Rath Cycle (Magic: The Gathering), which seems to assert that this concept is known as a "cycle", not a "block".
- So, we should use this RM as an opportunity to clean all this up. I'm in favour of the most concise option, which would give us Theros block. If for some reason, Foo block is ambiguous, then we can use Foo block (Magic: The Gathering). 162 etc. (talk) 18:35, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- I don't mind which naming convention ends up being used but if you want to start a larger discussion on consistency across this topic, I would suggest starting an RfC over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Magic: The Gathering. Sariel Xilo (talk) 20:26, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

- Comment I should mention that this page is clearly non-notable and fails GNG. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 14:27, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- while yes, the current article is currently almost exclusively linking only to primary sources, MTG is a huge industry that supports several third party, independent, genre publications that will have covered the content about the blocks/sets

- Support per WP:PRECISE, since the current title has unnecessary disambiguation, and as a move request I would have performed if it were requested on WP:RMTR. Quite frankly, I'm a bit surprised this got relisted: This is Wikipedia, not the Magic: The Gathering Fandom ... we go by our established policies when applicable for all article titles. Steel1943 (talk) 21:22, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, I see what the question may be: I have no opinion on the capitalization of the word "[Bb]lock". At the minimum, this page should be moved away from the unnecessary disambiguation. Steel1943 (talk) 21:24, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- Support removing the unnecessary disambiguation. If there's no consensus yet on whether "block" or "cycle" should be used, or whether it should be capitalized, we should just go with "Theros Block" for now. The obvious {{r from unnecessary disambiguation}} doesn't need to be postponed for the sake of discussing a broader issue. jlwoodwa (talk) 19:24, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
