Merge

[edit]

There is really no reason to have individual articles when they are only one or two paragraphs. I suggest merging all of the subpages onto this page unless they become expanded to a point where it bogs down this page. Cuñado - Talk 17:22, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I prefer to have different articles. --Striver 20:32, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shadada

[edit]

Sahada a root? Since when? --Striver 08:51, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move

[edit]

This articles describes Shi'a theology. But its name is not sound good. I propose to mone it to Imami'ya as a school of Theology (Kalam) in Islam.--Sa.vakilian 08:17, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Imami'ya? Maybe Usul al-Din, but i prefer it as is. The term is notable enough to have its own article. --Striver 14:00, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think only Shi'a know it at as Usul al-Din but it is not an academic word. Also its translation doesn't sounds good.--Sa.vakilian 18:19, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In any case, Imami'ya is not even a translation to begin with, and it most certanly is not what this article is about. --Striver 19:37, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think we can use Shi'a's thology or Theology of Shi'a as the main name and redirect Roots of Religion and Imami'ya to it.--Sa.vakilian 03:40, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
@Sa.vakilian: There is an article with name of Five Pillars of Islam and Shia and Sunni views explained in the article. Therefore, I think that the good name for this article is "Five Pillars of Islam (Shiite)" or "Five Pillars of Shia Islam".Saff V. (talk) 10:24, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Saff V., Mhhossein, and Salman mahdi: What is your idea about "Five pillars of faith (Twelver)" (اصول عقائد)?--Seyyed(t-c) 12:55, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Sa.vakilian:Five pillars of faith (Twelver) is better than the current name.Saff V. (talk) 13:05, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Saff V., Sa.vakilian, and Salman mahdi: What's wrong with "Five pillars of Shia Islam"? Mhhossein (talk) 03:47, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mhhossein, Sa.vakilian, and Salman mahdi:Five pillars of Shia Islam is a specific and good title for the article but I think that Five pillars of faith (Twelver) has ambiguity.Saff V. (talk) 06:43, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please go by WP:COMMONNAME. Per WP:NATURAL, "Do not ... use obscure or made-up names." The phrase "Five pillars of Shia Islam" gives me just 3 results on Google.--Anders Feder (talk) 07:41, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Anders Feder:Which one is better?Five pillars of Shia Islam or Five pillars of faith (Twelver)?Saff V. (talk) 08:03, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have no opinion, but sources often seem to translate "Usul al-Din" as "Principles of Faith".--Anders Feder (talk) 08:11, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's a good suggestion.Saff V. (talk) 08:31, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Anders Feder: In Persian and Arabic languages, we use "The Principles of Religion" (اصول دین , Usool e Deen). We try to find something which is acceptable and relevant. "Theology of Twelvers" does not look good. --Seyyed(t-c) 09:26, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Sa.vakilian:It's better to use Shia word in the title, because there are difference between Shia and Sunni principles. Also, this page is about Shia's principles.Saff V. (talk) 09:49, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Saff V.:, Do you suggest to add the theology of the other Shia branches?--Seyyed(t-c) 12:45, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Sa.vakilian:According to the article and the theology of the other Shia branches, I sure these principles are for twelver group. Therefore, using twelver in title is better.Saff V. (talk) 13:20, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
