[edit]Removed the following because it read like either a fanboy rant or a record label promo:
The Meteors in all their guises have created a style that thousands of people have taken to their hearts and hundreds of bands have chosen to copy. Over their 30 year career they have continued to stay true to their self-proclaimed mandate as the Kings of Psychobilly.

List of other bands
[edit]I think the bullet points should be removed detailing the other bands, as it is irrelevant. It would be much more organized and easy on the eyes to either just leave the link to the list or have a list of "contemporaries."-TheChrisParker (talk) 18:29, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- You're very right. It has no place in this article—I've removed it. Grim (talk) 22:19, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
small edit war on two statements
[edit]There seem to be two IPs starting a small edit war on these two statements:
Fans of the band (known as the World Wide Wrecking Crew (WWWC)) are known to use the slogan, "Only The Meteors are Pure Psychobilly," (often shortened to "OTMAPP") as a rallying cry.
Due to their unprecedented cult following
I re-added them and put citation tags, so that someone will find a source for those statements, instead of just deleting them --Enric Naval (talk) 12:19, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Possibly replacing unprecedented with large would make it look less fannish? If no-one objects over the next couple of days I'll make the change. The-Dixie-Flatline (talk) 04:04, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
psychobilly?
[edit]Although they identify with psychobilly most of the Meteors work is still in the realm of surf rock including psychobilly stomp - its not really until after Bastard Sons of a Rock'n'Roll Devil album that they can really be labelled psychobilly
Lack of citations/references
[edit]Deleted most items without cites or with references that are no longer valid/live. Much of what remains still needs citations and working reference links. ZZZata2022 (talk) 03:38, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
Improper language: "In August 1981, the band were signed to Island Records...". Band is singular and the verb should be "was".
