Scrooge similar to Dickens' father?

[edit]

" ...and how Dickens's fictional character Ebenezer Scrooge (Plummer) was influenced by his real-life father, John Dickens (Pryce)."

How comes? The movie shows that Dickens father was procrastinating and overspending, and also that he was in jail for debts. Scrooge was not a reckless spender, those are two different characters. Scrooge in the movie is a composite character, quite contrasting with rather joyful type represented by John Dickens Bialosz (talk) 08:42, 27 November 2017 (UTC).[reply]

@Bialosz: That's a good point. The movie doesn't draw any comparison between the two men, other than that Dickens grew frustrated at both of them Balon Greyjoy (talk) 14:40, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Errors in the plot summary

[edit]

At the end, Dickens rush to the printer, not the illustrator. His wife make so such suggestion about inviting his father back, merely that he could catch him if he hurries. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.241.227.108 (talk) 02:59, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
