Licensing requirements
[edit]Removed CorenSearchBot note since that text is CC-BY-SA from Wikia, so it's fine to copy. Good catch though! -- Fuzheado | Talk 14:34, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
- User:Fuzheado, I'm afraid it's not fine to copy if you don't comply with the license - content that's CC-By-SA requires specific attribution. Of course, if you're the sole author of the content there, attribution isn't necessary. Can you please identify the origin of this text on Wikia? My search for a text string there on Wikia hasn't been helpful. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:38, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Moonriddengirl: - What would be your suggestion then, since there is authorship recorded in the edit history of the Wikia article? [1] -- Fuzheado | Talk 14:38, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
- Fuzheado, all that we need is a link from the Wikia article in the edit summary and on the article itself. {{Wikia content}} suffices for the bottom of the article - this attributes the content and lets people know that dual licensing does not apply to all of the article. Edit summary just needs a note explaining that content came from Wiki, with a link. Since the content isn't public domain, we do have to attribute it to use it. :)

- Let me know if you need help with the application of either of these steps. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:16, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Fuzheado: just making sure this doesn't get overlooked. :) This is a legal requirement - without attribution, the article is in violation of the copyright of Wikia's editors. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:30, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
- @Moonriddengirl: Sorry, didn't ignore you but I just have no bandwidth for anything other than edit-a-thons for now. Feel free to correct and fix, or it will just have to wait until I can get back to it. -- Fuzheado | Talk 14:26, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

No hurries. :) I've removed it in the meantime. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:10, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
