The GNOME Project vs GNOME Foundation

[edit]I have to be that guy - wta the letters mean? G N O M E. please explain? example: with GNU, while explanation is not satisfying, at least the article for GNU mentions that it is a recursive acronym. which accounts for the N & the U.

Criticism of GNOME
[edit]The GNOME project has been controversial at times, as evident through clashes with the greater Linux community over the years. As an example, see the recent GTK4/libadwaita fiasco, and disagreements with the Budgie project over this.
I think this page should outline at least some of these criticisms. At present, the only material I can find documenting this is GNOME#Criticism, but it only concerns the criticism of GNOME 3.
