John Gilpin

[edit]

A link back would be good - or just combine articles? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_GilpinDhyandeva (talk) 17:06, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good suggestion & done. I think this has more room for development so am leaving as is for now. Truthkeeper (talk) 02:27, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Amalgamate with John Gilpin Page

[edit]

It seems unnecessary to have two articles - one to a man (a historical figure?) who we're not sure existed and is only noteworthy because he was in a famous ballad and poem. Wouldn't it be better to merge this page and John Gilpin with any material in the John Gilpin page becoming a section on historicity or background on here. We're more likely to achieve one decent article then. It seems unlikely we can expand the John Gilpin page much and there is already a lot of duplication. So this seems a good solution. Thoughts?
