The Backseat Boyz → Backseat Boyz – Per WP:THE. McPhail (talk) 19:18, 31 July 2023 (UTC)— Relisting. —usernamekiran (talk) 17:09, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose Unless you point to what specifically in WP:THE you are citing as your reasoning. It seems like this is an example of a proper noun where The article should remain. Criticalus (talk) 00:55, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Criticalus: - the convention as set out at WP:THE is that "the" should not be used other in two circumstances: "If a term with a definite article has a different meaning with respect to the same term without the article" or "If the definite or indefinite article would be capitalized in running text". "Backseat Boyz" is currently a redirect to "The Backseat Boyz" so the first circumstances does not apply. In terms of the second circumstance, this will vary by writer but here is an example in a published book that does not capitalise "the" in running text. McPhail (talk) 13:56, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your answer! I think you are reading too much into those sections specifically and ignoring the one right below it which says
the official or commonly used name or nickname of a group, sports team or company
oranother official or commonly used proper name
are sometimes reasons to include "The" in the article name. In this case it certainly seems to be a proper name. - I also noticed you posted this for a move vote less than a year ago where every single vote was against the move. Given that, I would have probably closed this out per WP:SNOWBALL had I not already voten and thus become involved. I recommend whoever looks at this next to look at the argument being made, look at the last move discussion, and come to your own conclusions on what the best next steps are.
