Notability
[edit]The article has references to the New York Times and the Washington Post, both major newspapers, giving ample coverage to this novel. Therefore, the book is notable enough to have a Wikipedia article. Dream Focus 02:10, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- So if there were stories about me in the Washington Post and any other major newspaper I deserve a Wikipedia article? Let me go create it now. Thanks. WP:DNFTT Obotlig ☣ interrogate 02:16, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- WP:NOTABILITY and the general notability guidelines WP:GNG will explain this to you if you don't know how it works. Dream Focus 02:32, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yeh Wikipedia:Notability (people). Will you make mine for me. I won't complain about unflattering categories or labels. Maybe you could make a project of creating every conceivable unimportant article by the most abusive interpretations of policies just to create a disruption in AfD. WP:DNFTT Obotlig ☣ interrogate 02:40, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- The article is not a person, but a book. So the subject specific guideline for people isn't relevant here. It passes the general notability guideline just fine. Dream Focus 02:42, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- That was an illustration. Even though I should apparently not have a Wikipedia article there are definitely a number of non-insignificant newspaper articles about me specifically. To take the qualifications for a person or book as expansively as possible would lead to an incredible number of superfluous articles. Wikipedia might as well be google in that case. Or your blog. - WP:I don't like it is not a valid reason to delete something. If you don't like the notability guidelines, then go and discuss it on the proper talk pages about changing it. Those guidelines have been in places for years now. Dream Focus 10:31, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- My biggest problem right now is that I can't stop feeding a troll because of being trolled and to call a troll a troll can be called trolling. Obotlig ☣ interrogate 14:56, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
