- ... that after the small Corinthian navy was defeated at the Battle of Leucimme during the Affair of Epidamnus, they managed to recover so utterly in the span of two years that their navy became the third largest in all of Greece?
- ALT1: ... that a coup in modern-day Albania spiraled into the Ancient Greek equivalent of a world war in the Affair of Epidamnus?
- Comment: Fact found in Thucydides's History of the Peloponnesian War chapter two, along with naval analysis paper cited by name in the article

- The article was created and nominated on the 22nd, so is new enough. It is easily long enough and reads neutrally, with inline citations. The copyvio detector found no issues outside of direct quotes, which are fine. No QPQ is required as this is the nominator's first DYK. The main hook, however, is slightly too long at 236 characters, not under the 200 character limit. I think the main hook is far more interesting than the Alt one, so how about this variation?
- ALT2: ... that after the small Corinthian navy was defeated during the Affair of Epidamnus, they managed to recover so utterly in just two years that their navy became the third largest in all of Greece?
- Once we've cleared up what hook to use, I'll be able to approve. SilverserenC 07:48, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- Sure, sounds good! Let's use that hook then! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yujie.ho123 (talk • contribs) 11:51, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- Approve ALT2 Alright, good to go then. SilverserenC 19:07, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

Should oligarchs and Democrats be swapped?
[edit]It seems unlikely that the Delian league would ssupport an oligarchic faction and that the Peloponnesian league would support a democratic faction. Could it be an accidental mix-up by the sources? 86.171.55.1 (talk) 22:14, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
