The result of the move request was: not moved. Official names have little bearing on article titles. In order for a consensus to form to move the article to the longer title, proponents would need to demonstrate that the longer title is clearly more common. Even proponents of the move express doubt that such is the case. Xoloz (talk) 03:55, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
Univision Communications → Univision Communications Inc. – The company name is Univision Communications Inc. This name is currently occupied by a redirect created 6 years ago. This is not a recent change or a string of successive name changes, it is the official name. The content has been updated and even their acronym is UCI. --Relisted. - Oppose. Please see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies). The legal status suffix of a company, such as "Inc.", is not normally included unless it is needed to disambiguate. There is currently no other article with a "Univision Communications" name. Per Wikipedia:Article titles, common usage is preferred over the official one. Zzyzx11 (talk) 05:03, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
- Support - I think Zzyzx11 may have missed the fact that including the suffix in this case appears to be the "common usage". After a quick search engine test, the inclusion of the suffix seems as or more common than excluding it. Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies), "common usage is preferred". In this case the suffix appears to be the common usage. Additionly, as the nom points out, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies) also makes exceptions for acronyms. NickCT (talk) 16:30, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- I do not see evidence that it is significantly more common in reliable sources. They seem about equal. For every reliable news source I see that uses "Inc.", I can find another one that does not.[1][2][3][4][5][6] If it was significantly more common in reliable sources, then I would agree that it would be a compelling reason, but since they seem about equal, the status quo is sufficient to retain. Zzyzx11 (talk) 04:06, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Zzyzx11: - Ok. Looking at the search results -
- "Univision Communications Inc" yields approx 700k hits.
- "Univision Communications" -"Univision Communications Inc." yields approx 600k hits.
- I guess I'd agree that it isn't "significantly more common". "About equal" seems right. But still, I think when you combine nearly equal usage with the acronym consideration a move seems reasonable, despite Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies)'s preference against suffixes. NickCT (talk) 12:46, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- I disagree. The acronym does not seem to be frequently used to refer to Univision Communications. Those search results for "UCI" indicate greater prevalence for other subjects like University of California, Irvine and Union Cycliste Internationale. In addition, as I write this, Univision is not even listed in the current version of the UCI disambiguation page. Zzyzx11 (talk) 04:16, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not arguing the acronym UCI commonly refers Univisioin Communications. Granted UCI may more commonly refer to other entities. I'm arguing that when RS's cover Univision, they commonly use the acronym UCI. NickCT (talk) 01:41, 30 May 2014 (UTC)

- @Zzyzx11: - Ok. Looking at the search results -
- Oppose WP:OFFICIALNAME , WP:PRECISE , WP:CONCISE -- use the shorter name which is just as if not more common. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 06:19, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
- Support Reading the entry, "UCI" is repeated often and widely. If this is the acronym that has been embraced, and Inc. is a part of the company's official and common name, I see no harm in including "Inc." in the entry title. Bienmanchot (talk) 13:48, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
- Support I support for the reasons I originally expressed. Think in terms of the facts, it is the official name. --Monstermike99 (talk) 16:41, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Which, while a fact, is not a particularly relevant fact in terms of WP:AT. Andrewa (talk) 13:59, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose. The longer and shorter names are both in equally common usage, so we prefer the more concise name. Andrewa (talk) 13:59, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

- Move to TelevisaUnivision. Refer to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/TelevisaUnivision (CC) Tbhotch™ 18:04, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- Move to TelevisaUnivision. First, and obviously foremost, the company's name is titled as "TelevisaUnivison" without any hyphen and it should be renamed to the later. I'm aware that @Tbhotch: has considered renaming it back to the what it was and I think its best to move it there. Unless something happens with Televisa themselves with their cooperate name, for now, it should be renamed. 20chances (talk) 05:53, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Hello! I work on the communications team at TelevisaUnivision.
I noticed the Corporate governance section has an outdated executive officers list. I know I should not update the list myself because of my conflict of interest. Can another editor remove the current list and replace with the following one?
Executive officers[1]
- Wade Davis, Chief Executive Officer
- Pierluigi Gazzolo, Chief Executive Officer of ViX[2]
- Leopoldo Gomez Gonzalez, President, Univision News
- Jose Tomás, Chief Administrative Officer
- Olek Loewenstein, President of Sports Content
- Donna Speciale, President of Advertising Sales and Marketing
- Flavia Vigio, Executive Vice President of Communications[3]
- Pilar Ramos, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
- Diane Kniowski, President of Local Media
- Michael Cerda, Executive Vice President of Product and Technology, Streaming
- Adam Shippee, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Strategy and Transformation[4]
- Michael Schwimmer, President, Global Platform Strategy and Revenue
- Ignacio "Nacho" Meyer, President of U.S. Networks[5]

I can confirm the accuracy of this list, and I've included sources for verification. Thank you for reviewing this request. CT at TU (talk) 16:07, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
- I am going to go ahead and remove that section in its entirety. Most company pages on Wikipedia do not have a large list of leadership, and instead have a small list of people in the infobox or other information about current CEO and key select leaders in the prose. I am going to leave the CEO; it looks like there is a separate Vix (streaming service) article so I don't think the Vix CEO needs to be included here as well. SpencerT•C 22:44, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
Updates: Pantaya, Latin American Music Awards
[edit]Hello again! On behalf of TelevisaUnivision, I want to flag an outdated sentence about Pantaya and suggest a text addition regarding the Latin American Music Awards:
Pantaya
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
The article's History section currently says "in May 2022, TelevisaUnivision announced it will acquire the American OTT streaming service, Pantaya from Hemisphere Media Group. Hemisphere will also acquire Univision's radio stations in Puerto Rico."
Requested update: The acquisition was completed in September 2022, per TV Technology, San Diego Union-Tribune, Business Insider Mexico, Chicago Tribune and other news sources. Would an editor be willing to update the text?
Suggested text: "In September 2022, TelevisaUnivision completed the acquisition of American OTT streaming service Pantaya from Hemisphere Media Group in exchange for cash and select Puerto Rican radio assets, including San Juan-based WKAQ (AM) and WKAQ-FM."
