Removal?

[edit]

Hi @Happyjit Singh, you have removed AIMIM, BJP and TDP from the infobox mentioning that exits polls indicate single digit figures and fight is concentrated between BRS and INC. But infact this is the 2018 election article and you might have confused it to be 2023? Can you please clarify this. 456legend (talk) 17:31, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@456legend and @Happyjit Singh, I have reverted as the all the major contestants of the election need to be shown. Arjunaraoc (talk) 03:47, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay 456legend (talk) 05:32, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Happyjit Singh, I request you to please refer Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian politics/Election: Article structure#Infobox for the concensus discussion before you remove the major contenders from the infobox. Your rationale for determining the major contenders based on the seats and voting percentage obtained do not match with the Wikiproject consensus. Please consider replying to this and putting your point. 456legend (talk) 15:56, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Shaan Sengupta please join the discussion Happyjit Singh (talk) 18:13, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Happyjit Singh there is no point in involving a third person in the discussion without putting forward your points and your basis for the changes. You definitely have a right to bring in people for discussion I believe but it is also important to state your stance in this change since you are the one who changed it on the first hand and not the other person. So I kindly request you to provide your viewpoint on what basis you can justify the removal is valid. Thank you 456legend (talk) 19:45, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Happyjit Singh It is never a good decision to involve someone who is un-involved. Anyways, I know why you pinged me. Let me make things clear once and for all to you. Indian Election articles are created according to the layout format explained and mentioned in MOS:INDELECT. It states that Infobox should only have parties (not alliances, as you have repeatedly added previously) that are considered as major contender by reliable sources at the time of election. Even if they get 0 seats, they shouldn't be removed. Now, I have always told you that parties with single digit vote and seat share in previous election shouldn't be added in election articles that are about to happen in future until they are shown as major contender by reliable sources. Now here in the case of this article, the parties you removed, I believe (since I was not here then) were considered major contenders at the time of elections. So even if they performed badly, they shouldn't be removed. Now you claimed in your edit summary that they got single digit seats in exit polls. Have my eyes missed something @456legend @Arjunaraoc? I can't see any exit polls mentioned in the article as claimed by @Happyjit Singh. Is Happyjit creating a hoax? ShaanSenguptaTalk 05:12, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Shaan Sengupta I am not aware about the intentions of @Happyjit Singh since he haven't provided a proper rationale for the removal that I have requested to provide in the first case. Secondly the article does not carry any exit polls or opinion polls since it wasn't updated back then and considering the fact that it's 5 years now everyone's eye is on the 2023 election instead. Citing the sources at the time of the election AIMIM, BJP and TDP were considered as the major contenders in the election based on the previous election where all 2 of the parties bagged more seats but failed to perform in well in 2018 and the other being dominant in the seats it had contested. So I come to a understanding that all 3 of them should be placed back in their place. 456legend (talk) 05:51, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@456legend I completely agree with you here. They should be put back. Also I can't understand why the need to make major changes in previous elections. They were made according to the situation at that time. The focus should be on current elections. Anways..... ShaanSenguptaTalk 06:22, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You always told not to add parties with 1 seat and single digit vote share. They have never performed better in elections before 2018 as CPIM and INC in West Bengal Happyjit Singh (talk) 06:45, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Happyjit Singh Yes I told you. But in which article? The article whose election is not yet happened, not in articles whose elections have happened. I never make major changes in previously concluded articles. Learn the difference. ShaanSenguptaTalk 07:04, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
