The result of the move request was: Moved as proposed. There is consensus that Te Ata is the subject's WP:COMMONNAME. Some expressed reservations around the disambiguator "(actress)" - it may be worth having a follow-up discussion about alternative qualifiers. Te Ata FisherTe Ata (actress)WP:COMMONNAME. The lead section of the article doesn't even contain "Fisher". Neither do the next three sections that follow after the lead, including the discussion of her entire acting career. Reading the article, I was scratching my head in puzzlement over what the whole "Fisher" idea was – I thought maybe there had been some recent vandalism of the article or its title. I think "Fisher" is only included here for disambiguation, and it doesn't seem like a good choice for that purpose. It obscures her name rather than improving its clarity. But I'm not an expert about this topic, so please correct me if I am wrong in some way. — BarrelProof (talk) 05:22, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

*Support Te Ata FisherTe Ata and also support Te Atadeleted to make room for move. The only other person upon the two-entry Te Ata disambiguation page is Te Atairangikaahu (1931–2006), Māori queen, who was always referenced by her full name, with no indication that she was known as simply "Te Ata". A hatnote atop Te AtaFor the Maori queen, see Te Atairangikaahu — would suffice. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 15:37, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't know much about the Maori queen, and just as you did, I also noticed that the article about her consistently uses a longer form of her name. And when I search the web for "Te Ata", the actress is the clearly dominant result. However, after a little bit of studying it is also clear that the Maori queen is indeed sometimes referred to as "Te Ata" or "Dame Te Ata". Note, for example, that some of the comments on that article's Talk page refer to her that way. And it also seems possible that if I conducted my web search from a New Zealand IP address, I might get a different result. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:29, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Update: It may be worth noting that the disambiguation page at Te Ata has been expanded since the above remarks. Three more topics have been added to it, so we probably can't just consider deleting it anymore. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:40, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

* Support move to Te Ata. Moving to Te Ata (actress) wouldn't be any kind of improvement, since it's not shorter, more intuitive, or her name. Yuchitown (talk) 16:24, 16 December 2021 (UTC)Yuchitown[reply]
