To whom it may concern,
I find it quite disturbing to find a picture of a legitimate head of state as Shooting target. This does not reflect my expectations of the quality of wikipedia. I would highly recommend to not put a real - especially famous - person as target here.
- I'm disturbed by the whole 'mannequin' section, it seems to have been written by someone with an anti-woman anti-liberal agenda.Stub Mandrel (talk) 12:53, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
Article needs classification of targets by action
[edit]- Stationary/Static target
- Dynamic target
- Running target (as in 100 metre running deer, 10 meter running target...) - target moving sideways
- Moving target (as in Shooting at the 1908 Summer Olympics – Men's moving target small-bore rifle)
- Flying target (as in Skeet, Trap...)
- Disappearing target (as in Shooting at the 1908 Summer Olympics – Men's disappearing target small-bore rifle)

Federations and targets
[edit]Why do ISSF, WBSF and IPSC targets so much differ? Those are largest organizations for the three types of sport shooting. It would be good to elaborate on that. Has it to do with distance/visibility or realism or easier point allocation...? The same thing with field vs target archery in WA. 213.149.62.70 (talk) 06:33, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
800 yd rifle records
[edit]An 1878 article in Scientific American notes a record of 39 consecutive bulls-eye shots from 800-yd with a rifle. Curious to know if there is a page or need for a section with such records.
