Names

None of the five listed ships are named after American Revolutionary War battles. Were any of the other unbuilt ships planned to be named as such? --Kevin W. 04:39, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Aircraft carriers

Can the class be considered technically "aircraft carriers"? The former Soviet Kiev class carried VSTOL sircraft and helicopters and were considered aircraft carriers. best 194.80.106.135 (talk) 10:37, 2 June 2008 (UTC) Perhaps, Harrier (AV-8) have operated from these vessels. By size this is larger that vessels some other nations consider aircraft carriers. However, these vessels also have their well deck to operate LCACs and other craft. I sill speculate that the magazines to handle aviation ordnance - and allow safe handling and transport to the flight deck is limited and below what would be expected for an aircraft carrier. The class lacks a Ski jump, or catapults or arresting gear/wires frequently found with aircraft carriers. These ships operated OV-10 Bronco's with out that though some early in their career. Boilers

Verb tense: present or past?

Since all ships of the class have been decommissioned as of 2015 (stated in the article itself), shouldn't all verb tenses be changed from present to past? --Seth Knops (talk • contribs) 15:12, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Three of the ships are still in the Reserve Fleet and two of those are on donation hold. FYI - wolf 22:19, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
