Why Tall Firs is notable

[edit]

1. The band has had a record review published in Rolling Stone, the biggest music-based publication in America (the review is published here: http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/album/11429885/review/12665488/tall_firs .)
2. The band's members have played in other noteworthy bands- the drummer, Ryan Sawyer, played in At the Drive In, a huge American band, and has played with groups such as Fiery Furnaces and TV On The Radio, huge indie rock presences in America.
3. The band is on a major American record label, Ecstatic Peace!, the record label of Sonic youth's Thurston Moore, a huge musical presence in America. The label contains other major indie presences in America, such as be your own PET! and Magik Markers.
4. The band is currently on tour with Emily Haines, a major artist both in America and Canada, whose latest self-released reached #28 on the Canadian charts.

I saw Tall Furs play this week, and was blown away by them, so much so that after the show I came to Wikipedia to try and find information on them- however, I found none. Earler today I saw a stub about the band that has since been deleted. On their tour with Emily Haines, they're going to be exposed to thousands of new fans across the country, and hundreds of them are probably going to come here to try to find information about the band, just as I did. The fact they opened for her when her performance was being simulcast on NPR won't help to stifle their popularity.

For these reasons, I'm going to delete the Article for Deletion header. Please respond on my talk page or the Tall Firs talk page if you feel they are still not notable. Thank you!
