Might need to be synonymous with Intertrappean Beds
[edit]@Ta-tea-two-te-to: @Unofficial Jurassic World: Hi there, thank you for your help with creating and detailing this page! Unfortunately however, it appears that the most recent source (Nolf, Rana & Prasad, 2008) about the Takli Formation considers it synonymous with the Intertrappean Beds due to a lack of differentiation. The paper ("Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) fish otoliths from the Deccan Intertrappean Beds, India: A revision") can be accessed online although it downloads straight into your computer if the first link is clicked on. The relevant line is "The Nagpur intertrappean beds have also been called Takli Formation (SAHNI et al., 1987), but this formation name cannot be used, as the intertrappean beds are not mappable and this name cannot be extended to other intertrappean sites." No other papers referring to the Takli as its own geologic formation can be found after the 1990s, and several more recent overviews of Intertrappean fauna have incorporated the Takli species into them. For this reason, it may be best to redirect this page to Intertrappean Beds and move any distinct information from here to there. I think most of the species listed here aside from invertebrates have already been added to that page. Geekgecko (talk) 23:18, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- Oh I didn't know about that, I only fixed later user made lists without Italic. (As I see the page Pinjor Formation that this user edited recently, this is not been conveyed) This user, to be honest edits somewhat controversial, like adding Malkani or GSP in references, uploading copyvio images etc. Well, anyway, this page is an example of a very old page by Abyssal. The page was created in 2009, so it was actually created after synonymize, but it's strange that no one noticed. Ta-tea-two-te-to (talk) 02:44, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! I would recommend merging all the relevant information into Intertrappean Beds and creating new tables and subsections for the info on this page that's not on that page. I assume the locality on the tables created can be listed as "Nagpur". Not sure if we need to hear from the other user before making this change. Geekgecko (talk) 02:17, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
