Proposed merge with Wang Junkai
[edit]Per WP:BAND: "Note that members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases. Singers and musicians who are only notable for participating in a reality television series may be redirected to an article about the series, until they have demonstrated they are independently notable." "Controversy" section
[edit]So we have repeated attempts to readd a "controversy" section sourced to three websites and one homemade YouTube video. The video is obviously not a WP:RS and can be rejected out of hand, so we are left with the links:
- http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/hqcj/xfly/2014-11-06/content_12668190.html
- http://jx.youth.cn/2014/1028/512681.shtml
The third link is a somewhat embellished version of the first two - multiple sentences and even paragraphs are word-for-word identical copies, all without attribution (rather ironic in something about plagiarism allegations, no?). That it got published at all is a clear indication of absence of meaningful editorial control.
The first two are word-for-word identical; one attributed to "环球娱乐网" and the other to "环球网", presumably the same source. Each website also carries a disclaimer that they aren't responsible for the truthfulness of such republished articles, clear indication that these two republishers weren't exercising any editorial control - a requirement of reliability. A search for "环球娱乐网" yields a host of tabloid news, indicating that this is at best a tabloid-like source. If we assume that this is in fact referring to "环球网" as in ent.huanqiu.com - a quick examination of the front page of that website shows that it is also on the same level. (I'm also unable to find the original, for that matter.) Tabloid journalism is not acceptable as the sole source for controversial content in a BLP; see WP:BLPSOURCE. T.
