Symbols of New South Wales → List of New South Wales state symbols – Changing to match the format in Category:Lists of United States state symbols by state, Category:Lists of Brazilian state symbols by state, and Category:Lists of Philippine provincial symbols.
- Symbols of Queensland → List of Queensland state symbols
- Symbols of South Australia → List of South Australia state symbols
- Symbols of Tasmania → List of Tasmania state symbols
- Symbols of the Australian Capital Territory → List of the Australian Capital Territory territorial symbols
- Symbols of the Northern Territory → List of the Northern Territory territorial symbols
- Symbols of Western Australia → List of Western Australia state symbols BaduFerreira (talk) 15:57, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose The current names seem more natural and succinct. List of the Northern Territory territorial symbols and List of the Australian Capital Territory territorial symbols are especially bad. Steelkamp (talk) 09:05, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- Strong Oppose - per Steelkamps comment, and the precedent of other locations is open to question, the US example is an actual identification where it is neither easy to read but has the tendency to confused.
- Also this discussion should have been at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Australian_Wikipedians%27_notice_board where there is more likelihood of editors being able to see the discussion, a comment has been left there regarding this location. JarrahTree 00:59, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @JarrahTree, what did you mean by "neither easy to read but has the tendency to confused"? I didn't understand that part of your comment. BaduFerreira (talk) 11:51, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- Comment - If the move is rejected, there might be a case for renaming List of symbols of states and territories of Australia to Symbols of states and territories of Australia for consistency, or merging it with National symbols of Australia into Symbols of Australia. Mitch Ames (talk) 01:06, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose - present naming conveys meaning simply and succinctly. Will Thorpe (talk) 12:40, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose If it ain't broke, why fix it? Kerry (talk) 04:45, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
